Guided NAFlutomat - Step 1. Units

This page provides one of the steps in the Guided version of NAFlutomat — a design tool for flute-crafting. The series of eight steps helps you set the most important inputs to the NAFlutomat tool and provides descriptions and explanations of those inputs.

Step 1. Units

Description

In this first step, you select whether you want to work in Metric or Imperial units. Some things to note:

• This selection is pervasive through the later calculations and affects almost everything about the way NAFlutomat operates. For example, the “standard router bit” sizes used at the last step (the main NAFlutomat calculation step) are in steps of ⅛″ for Imperial units, and ¼ cm if you choose Metric units.
• The default parameters of this Guided NAFlutomat interface change based on which system of Units you select on this page. However, once you get to the main NAFlutomat calculator at the end of these guided steps, changing between Metric and Imperial will not convert any of the input values.
